BROWNSVILLE, Texas — The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) is pleased to announce an upcoming bilingual information session titled “Let’s Talk Money for Your Small Business” designed to educate local entrepreneurs on the financing options available through the programs of BCIC. The session will take place at the eBridge Center on Thursday, October 17.

The event will be divided into two segments to accommodate both English and Spanish speakers. from From 12:00 pm to 12:30 pmthe presentation will be in English, followed by a presentation in Spanish by From 12:30 to 13:00. The event will be chaired by BCIC’s Chief Operating Officer, Victoria Padronwhich will provide insight into two main funding programs: Recovery fund AND eBridge Fund. Both programs aim to provide accessible financial relief and financing to businesses at various stages, from startups to established businesses looking to expand.

The Recovery Fund provides essential relief for businesses affected by the pandemic, while the eBridge Fund provides flexible financing options for those looking to grow, expand or relocate.”
of Recovery fund is one of the last remaining COVID-19 relief programs still available to small businesses, offering 0% forgivable loans up to $20,000. Businesses that have received previous assistance through programs such as PPP are still eligible to apply for the Recovery Fund. This program is designed to help businesses retain employees and recover from revenue losses caused by the pandemic, providing much-needed support during the ongoing recovery process.
of eBridge Fund is a revolving loan program available to businesses in Cameron County. It offers loans from $15,000 to $50,000 with interest rates up to 6.35% and up to 15 years to repay – depending on the purpose of the loan. This fund is designed for businesses that cannot secure traditional bank financing or require more competitive rates. It can be used for working capital, real estate, machinery and equipment, providing flexible financial support to businesses looking to grow, relocate or create jobs in the community.
The session will cover the application process, eligibility criteria and the advantages of each funding option. BCIC staff will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on next steps. Attendees who RSVP will also enjoy a complimentary lunch during the event, providing a great opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs in a relaxed environment.
